MARSHALLTOWN — Newton High’s girls played doubles matches in junior varsity action Monday at Marshalltown and not singles as reported on Tuesday.
Newton’s Arianna Jamieson and Natalie Camp beat Olivia Ryan and Libby Loney, 6-3. Newton’s Bethany Baumgartner and Kinzie Loree beat Aubrey Hala and Claire Stalzer, 6-4.
Newton’s Maddie Gooding-Hunt and Ali Besgell defeated Jocelin Guzman and Gina Kuo, 7-5. Newton’s Elizabeth Myers and Rylie Bakalar beat Maryam Hussain and Olivia Van Roij, 6-3. Newton’s Morgan Modlin and Haley Walter beat Hussain and Van Roij, 6-3.
Newton’s Stacie Sanger and Isabella Leach lost to Ryan and Loney, 6-3. Newton’s GiGi Chen and Alexandra Doepp lost to Hala and Stalzer, 6-0. Newton’s Sanger and Echo Downs lost to Guzman and Kvo, 6-2.
