CMB girls golf takes third twice

Playing on back-to-back nights, the Collins-Maxwell/Baxter girls’ golf team finished third twice on Monday and Tuesday.

The Raiders visited Lincoln Valley Golf Course in State Center on Monday and was 27 shots back of champion and host West Marshall, and then the Trojans won against Tuesday, this time defeating CMB by 32 strokes.

The Raiders and Trojans played with East Marshall/GMG on Monday.

West Marshall won the meet with a 216 and East Marshall was second with a 219.

The Raiders finished with a 243 and was led by Courtney Clapper’s 57.

Abbie Ericson also carded a 58 and the final two counting scores were the 64s from Zoee Risdal and Avery Hlavacek.

Halley Buseman also shot a 72 and Brynne Pritchard finished with an 83.

Meet medalist went to East Marshall’s Bobbi Amendt, who turned in a 46 from the No. 5 spot.

West Marshall was led by Maddi Stalzer’s 50 and Kenadey Porter’s 52.

At the par 36 Jewell Golf and Country Club, CMB shot a 252 on Tuesday. West Marshall won with a 220, edging South Hamilton by one stroke.

Porter was the meet medalist with a 47 and South Hamilton’s Sidney Alsager was runner-up with a 51.

CMB was led by Ericson’s 58 and Clapper’s 60. Hlavacek had a counting score of 64 and Risdal’s 70 was the final counting score.

The Raiders will play at Terrace Hills Golf Course at 4 p.m. Monday. The meet hosted by Bondurant-Farrar also will feature Prairie City-Monroe.
