Newton Police Department

• Katelynn R. Tibben, 24, of Newton, is charged with driving while license suspended after authorities pulled her over in the 1100 block of South Eighth Avenue East at 10:06 p.m. Friday. She was cited and released to appear.

• Neil E. Carr, 52, of Newton, is charged with operating while under the influence after authorities pulled him over in the 100 block of North Second Avenue West at 12:57 a.m. March 1. Officers found Carr to be moving fast and very animated. He was also talking at a rapid pace. He admitted that he had taken five hits from a meth pipe and a test resulted in confirmation he had drugs in his system. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• A 15-year-old juvenile is charged with fifth-degree criminal mischief after authorities were called to Newton High School at 3 p.m. April 3. Officers were called on a altercation in the parking lot and found the juvenile had been harassed to the point of confrontation where he broke an antenna on a truck. The damage was estimated at less than $100. He was cited and released to appear.

• Dorothy J. Weyers, 71, of Pella, is charged with unsafe approach to certain stationary vehicle after authorities were called to the 1000 block of South 14th Avenue West at 5 p.m. Sunday. Weyers backed out of a driveway and her vehicle hit the front drivers side quarter panel of a parked vehicle. Her vehicle had approximately $200 in damage and the parked vehicle had approximately $500 in damage. She was cited and released to appear.
