MARENGO — Lynnville-Sully’s Hawk golfers finished third in the Iowa Valley triangular golf meet Monday at Marengo Golf Club.
The Hawk boys scored 196 in the nine-hole event. Iowa Valley took first on its home course with a 184 and Belle Plaine had a four-man score of 189.
“This was my first look at this course, and I can see why it’s tough to score. It is a home-course advantage with rolling hills,” said Bryan Dejong, Lynnville-Sully golf coach.
Ben Trettin was the runner-up at the meet with a 44. Iowa Valley’s Gavin Collingwood was the meet medalist with a round of 41.
Lynnville-Sully got rounds of 49 from Baker Zegars and Bayley Morvant. Kolten Fisk carded a 54.
Also playing for the Hawks, Kyle Van Dyke shot a 57, Caleb James finished with a 59 and Holden Jansen had a 67.
Lynnville-Sully goes to Sigourney April 20.
