• Kid Fest will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Baxter Community Library, 202 E. State St. This is a library open house for younger children and their families.

• Iowa Speedway 8k “Where the Rubber Meets the Road” will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Iowa Speedway, 3333 Rusty Wallace Dr. in Newton.

• Alcoholics Anonymous will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 223 E. Fourth St. N. in Newton.

• Jasper County Democrats will host its off-year caucus at 10 a.m. Saturday at Jasper County Community Center in Newton. The party will be getting organized for the next election.

• Peer Support for those living with mental illness will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday at Optimae Life Services, 1730 First Ave. E. in Newton.

• Wittemberg Cemetery Association will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday at the home of Joe and Sandy Dodge, 1878 N. 51st Ave. E. in Newton.

• Spring Supper will meet at 5 p.m. Saturday at Congregational United Church of Christ, 218 S. Main St. in Baxter. The menu includes ham balls, au gratin potatoes, green beans, corn, rolls, salads, pies and beverages.

• Make a natural bird feeder beginning at 6 p.m. Monday at Newton Public Library, 100 N. Third Ave. W. Drop in and create a handmade, natural bird feeder for your yard. Birds are extra hungry in the spring and need lots of food. Open to teens and adults.

• Donkey Basketball Fundraiser will start at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Lynnville-Sully High School Gym in Sully. This will be a fun community event with proceeds going toward the Central Park and playset equipment project. $6 for advance tickets and $8 at the door.
