LYNNVILLE — Playing their home golf course to open the 2015 season, Lynnville-Sully’s boys claimed the team victory at a triangular meet Monday at Diamond Trail Golf Course.

“We finished our first meet of the season with a great start and beat the rain,” said Bryan De Jong, Lynnville-Sully head coach. “We’re hoping the weather cooperates for Tuesday’s meet also.”

The Hawks placed six golfers in the top 10 spots at the meet. Baker Zegars was fifth with a 44 followed by Kyle Van Dyke with a 45, tying for sixth.

Bayley Morvant shot a 46 while teammates Kolton Fisk and Caleb Jansen each carded 48s. Holden Jansen shot a 72.

Lynnville-Sully plays its first two golf meets at home this season. On Tuesday, Prairie City-Monroe and Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont come to Diamond Trail in Lynnville.
