Earth Day celebration set at Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge

Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge will be observing Earth Day April 25 by hosting a volunteer work day.

Volunteers will participate in oak savanna reconstruction from 9 a.m. to noon by assisting in tree and brush removal and litter removal. All volunteers will receive a free lunch at noon, provided by the Friends of Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge.

Megan Wandag, volunteer coordinator, said “Each year the Refuge sponsors this event and invites volunteers from a wide variety of groups to join us for this annual spring cleanup.”

If you would like to be involved contact Megan Wandag at 15-994-3400 or megan_wandag@fws.gov by April 20. Pre-registration is required.
