• Jasper County Republicans will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Bridgehouse Coffee Shop in Newton. Discussion will focus on the E.K. Shaw Memorial Trap Shoot set for April 18 at the Gun Club. All are welcome.

• Newton Golden K Kiwanis will meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Newton Village in Newton, for social time, coffee and an update on the Jasper County Museum by Linda Perrenaud.
