• Knights of Columbus Annual Lenten Fish Fry will begin at 5 p.m. Friday at McCann Center in Newton.

• Project AWAKE hosts “Celebrate Spring” at 10 a.m. Saturday at Newton Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, 3000 N. Fourth Ave. E. The event is open to all families and will feature games, crafts and refreshments. Free will donations accepted.

• 28th Annual Chill-I Ride will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at PJ’s Deli in Newton. This family friendly event starts at PJ’s Deli and includes laps around the Iowa Speedway. Cookies and hot chocolate are served halfway during the course as well as chili and soup at the finish line. All proceeds go to the Chichaqua Valley Trail.

• Peer Support for those living with mental illness will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday at Optimae Life Services, 1730 First Ave. E. in Newton.
