Local officers complete special training

Six local law enforcement officers from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) and the Newton Police Department (NPD) recently completed a 32 hour block of training through the Department of Homeland Security in Playas, N.M. The training focused on the prevention of and response to suicide bombing incidents with an emphasis on tactical team response.
