• Total Forgiveness women’s study will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hephzibah House, 721 E. Fourth St. S. in Newton.

• A town meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Jasper County Community Center, 2401 First Ave. E. in Newton. Discussion of a legislative bill that would, among other things, require oversight of USDA dog-breeding facilities be shared with the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship.

• Wine Down will meet at 5 p.m. Thursday at Van Wijk Winery, 802 Fourth St. in Sully.

• Knights of Columbus Annual Lenten Fish Fry will begin at 5 p.m. Friday at McCann Center in Newton. Fried and baked fish are available along with green beans, baked potato and dinner roll with the trimmings. The Monsignor T.J. McCann Council of the Knights of Columbus serve fish meals each Friday during Lent.

• Kellogg Lions Pancake Breakfast will meet at 7 a.m. Saturday at the Cabin in Holmdahl Park in Kellogg. In addition to the cakes, scrambled eggs, sausages, juices and coffee or milk will be served for your donation, to benefit the Diabetes organization and local Lions club projects.

• Zeta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International will meet at 5:45 p.m. Monday at United Presbyterian Church in Newton. The program will feature Allyson Carman and is entitled “Master Gardening.” Members are encouraged to bring small plants, plant starts, potting soil and/or pots with 4-6 inch openings to help complete one of the chapter’s ongoing projects. Hostesses for the evening are Jan Elbert, Judy Rodewald and Lisa Pageler.
