• Russell G. Quick, 32, of Kellogg, is charged with failure to yield to vehicle on right after authorities were called to the intersection of West Fifth Street South and South Third Avenue West at 9:24 a.m. Friday. Ashley Chambers traveling through the intersection when her vehicle was hit by Quick’s vehicle on the driver’s side and pushed into a telephone pole on the Southeast corner of the intersection. Chambers was taken to Skiff Medical Center for her injuries. Chambers had approximately $5,000 in damage and Quick had approximately $1,800 in damage. He was cited and released to appear.

Sheriff's Office

• Kevin J. Plowman, 33, of Newton, is charged with operating while under the influence after authorities pulled him over in the 6100 block of Highway F48 West at 1:54 a.m. Saturday. Officers smelled a strong odor of alcohol on Plowman and he had blood-shot, watery eyes. He had a BAC of .099. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Johnny R. Johnson, 59, of Grinnell, is charged with unlawful possession of prescription drug, driving while barred and operating while under the influence after authorities pulled him over at 15404 Highway 6 East at 3:32 p.m. Feb. 23. Johnson admitted to driving without a license and officers smelled an odor of alcohol on him. He admitted to having a couple of beers. Officers also found a blue plastic bottle with two types of medications in it. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
