Jasper County could see 5-7 inches of snow

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning about a system that could bring between 5 and 7 inches of snow in Jasper County and possibly up to 8 or 9 inches to some areas of the state.

The winter storm warning is in effect from 3 p.m. to midnight.

Snow will spread across the area by midday and increase into the afternoon, lasting into the evening hours. Winds are expected to be from the east at 10 to 20 mph. Visibility may be reduced to under a half a mile at times.

Roads are expected to become slick by Wednesday afternoon.
