ANKENY — Dennis Presnall, Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer of the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation and Senior Vice President-Secretary of Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company and Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company, has been appointed to the Des Moines Area Community College Board of Directors.
“I’m a firm believer in the importance of community colleges and the expanding role they play in postsecondary education,” said Presnall. “The two years I spent at a community college before attending a state university were instrumental in helping me obtain the foundation for future success. We’re seeing a growing need for skilled labor that required a new focus from postsecondary education. DMACC has set the standard for meeting those challenges and I look forward to serving on the board.”
Presnall, 61, was unanimously approved to fill the vacancy in Director District 6 created by the resignation of Carl Metzger. Metzger resigned from the board because he moved out of the district to accept the Des Moines Assistant Manager’s position. The DMACC board position will be on the ballot during the September 2015 school board election.
Presnall and his wife, Bev, live in Ankeny. They have three children and three granddaughters.
