James W. Herteen

James W. Herteen, 78, of Des Moines, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 18 at First Unitarian Church of Des Moines, 1800 Bell Ave.

James is survived by his wife, Mary Harlan; his son, Darin (Lisa) Herteen of Altoona; his grandson, Barrett Herteen; his three step-sons, Mark, Paul and David Schultz; and his eight step-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Society for the Preservation of the Barber Shop Quartets.
