May trial set for man accused of stabbing death

CEDAR RAPIDS — A May trial has been scheduled for a 33-year-old man accused of killing a woman in her Cedar Rapids apartment last year. Online court records say Bobbie Little, of Cedar Rapids, is charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of 37-year-old Shanna Beyhl. She was found dead on April 4. Authorities say Little was charged on April 8 after he was found with Beyhl’s cellphone, televisions and other items. Investigators say they found Little’s fingerprints at the scene and that Beyhl’s DNA was found on clothing and shoes belonging to Little.

The murder trial is set to begin May 18. It had been delayed while Little was examined by mental health experts. Court records say that in December he was found competent to stand trial.
