Newton Police Department

• Paul L. Harris III, 26, of Newton, was arrested on a Jasper County warrant for failure to appear after authorities were called to 308 E. 13th St. N. at 12:23 a.m. Saturday. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Jerry L. Bosely, 37, of Marshalltown, was arrested on two warrants for escape from a residential facility after he was pulled over in the 200 block of East Second Street North at 9:28 p.m. Saturday. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Brooke A. Launderville, 19, of Newton, was arrested on an Emmetsburg Police Department warrant for second-degree theft after authorities were called to 1800 W. Fourth St. N. at 7:33 p.m. Saturday. Officers were called on a suspicious vehicle driving around. Officers spoke to two juveniles who alleged Lauderville told them to drive around. She was taken to the Jasper County jail.

• Zachary A. Cupples, 20, of Newton, is charged with possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after authorities pulled him over in the 100 block of East Fifth Street North at 1:42 a.m. Sunday. Officers smelled burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle and Cupples admitted to smoking it. Officers found small baggies with what smelled like marijuana in the console along with a glass pipe. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
