Sheets elected to petroleum marketers board

URBANDALE — Lynn Sheets, of Sully, petroleum development manager at Key Cooperative has joined the Board of Directors of the Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Stores of Iowa

Sheets was nominated and elected by his peers and installed during PMCI’s Board meeting held Jan. 13. The association’s board of directors serves as a voice for the thousands of petroleum and convenience retailing businesses across Iowa. They meet frequently to discuss current industry trends and issues affecting their members and to advocate legislatively on behalf of the industry.

Sheets started in the petroleum industry in 1974 in Texas and advanced to assistant manager at several businesses before his move to Iowa.

He has been with Key Cooperative since 2000. Lynn has displayed his industry leadership by serving on many boards such as PMCI’s board from 2003-10; PEFI; and he is a founding member of the Iowa Propane Education and Research Council board. PMCI previously awarded him the prestigious Bucket Box Award for commitment to community and industry.

“I believe the PMCI association is a tremendous asset to its members, providing equal representation for all members large and small. Together we can accomplish much more than any one company can accomplish individually. I believe political activism is an important obligation,” Sheets said.
