Newton Police Department

• Dakota Midham, 20, of Newton, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation after authorities were called to the adult probation office at 8:52 a.m. Tuesday. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• James A. Bonnett, 33, of Newton, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation after authorities were called to the adult probation office at 9:26 a.m. Tuesday. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Tanner B. Jensen, 23, of Newton, is charged with second-degree robbery after authorities were called to DMACC at 9:30 p.m. Dec. 3. Officers spoke with a victim who said that he was sleeping when Jensen and another man attacked him and demanding everything in his pockets. He alleged he was punched in the face, hit on the head, pepper sprayed and tased. The victim said he gave them the $300 cash he had after they said they would take him to the country and beat him. Jensen was located Saturday in the 600 block of East Sixth Street North at 3 a.m. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Danny L. Atwood, 33, of Des Moines, is charged with second-degree robbery after authorities were called to DMACC at 9:30 p.m. Dec. 3. Officers spoke with a victim who said that he was sleeping when Atwood and another man attacked him and demanding everything in his pockets. He alleged he was punched in the face, hit on the head, pepper sprayed and tased. The victim said he gave them the $300 cash he had after they said they would take him to the country and beat him. Atwood was located Saturday in the 5900 block of Highway T12 North at 10:05 p.m. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Kristin R. Kessler, 25, of Grinnell, is charged with fifth-degree theft after authorities were called to Walmart at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday. Officers spoke with the loss prevention staff who saw Kessler take several items and put them in her coat. She was stopped by employees before she left the store. The items totaled $26.62. She was cited and released to appear.
