First Lutheran Church will host two Christmas events Sunday.
First will be a caroling and chili event beginning at 5 p.m. Sunday at the church, 309 E. Third St. N. in Newton.
Carolers are asked to meet at the church and then will set out for 60 to 90 minutes of caroling. Chili will be served following the outing.
A sign-up sheet will be in the narthex.
Second, the church will host a Christmas at Careage gift collection Sunday. Members of the church are asked to bring a $5 to $10 gift for a resident at Careage nursing home.
Suggestions for the gifts will be on a chart in the narthex. Gifts are to be wrapped with the resident’s name on it.
