Newton Police Department

• Andrew F. Van Dusseldorp, 32, of Newton, is charged with domestic abuse after authorities were called to 1004 N. Fifth Ave. E. at 11:55 a.m. Nov. 25. Officers spoke with the victim who to said he was arguing with her to leave their house and began throwing items around the house breaking them. He then pushed her against a playhouse, breaking it. He went on to choke her, leaving a red mark on her neck before leaving the residence with her phone and the keys to her father’s car. When officers located Van Dusseldorp he had the phone and the keys. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail and served with a no contact order request.

• Blake R. McWilliams, 18, of Prairie City, is charged with following to closely after authorities were called to First Avenue West at 8:41 a.m. Nov. 25. Jason Boos was slowing to turn when he was rear-ended by McWilliams. After the collision, McWilliams’ vehicle would not start and had to be towed. Boos and McWilliams both had approximately $2,000 in damage to their vehicles. He was cited and released to appear.

• Alexander C. Igram, 22, of Clive, is charged with following too closely after authorities were called to Interstate 80 by mile marker 167 at 6:54 p.m. Nov. 25. Andrew Goddard was traveling and slowed for traffic when he was rear-ended by Igram. Goddard had approximately $700 in damage while Igram had approximately $2,000. He was cited and released to appear.

• Jolene K. Lewis, 37, of Newton, was arrested on a Jasper County Warrant for failure to appear after authorities were called to 604 E. Third St. S. #3 at 9:25 p.m. Thursday. She was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Jackson R. Heard, 23, of Newton, is charged with driving while barred after he was pulled over in the 1500 block of First Street North at 6:03 a.m. Thursday. Heard admitted to not having a license. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
