• A 16-year-old juvenile is charged with assault causing bodily injury or mental illness after authorities were called to Burger King at 9:30 p.m. Nov. 14. Officers spoke with the victim who said that he had been punched twice resulting in a small cut and bruising. The juvenile confessed to causing the injury. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Kevin Jenkins, 53, of Newton, is charged with domestic abuse assault and possession of controlled substance after authorities were called to 1020 E. 12th St. N. #4 at 11:07 p.m. Nov. 13. Officers spoke with the victim who alleged Jenkins punched her in the nose, and she had multiple spots of blood on her. Jenkins denied punching the victim. After searching Jenkins, officers found marijuana which Jenkins said was the victims. While traveling to the jail, Jenkins admitted to having marijuana on him and that it was his in the residence. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Paul Dustin-Leland Pirtle III, 21, of Newton, was arrested on one Jasper County warrant for failure to appear and one Polk County warrant for possession after authorities stopped a vehicle he was traveling in at the 1300 block of South 12th Avenue West at 10:52 p.m. Tuesday. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Martin R. Waddle, 48, of Kellogg, is charged with driving while barred after authorities pulled him over at 800 S. Fifth Ave. W. at 10:40 p.m. Tuesday. Officer pulled him over for a covered license plate and discovered he had a barred license. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Edwin R. Dobbs, 24, of Newton, is charged with consumption of alcohol in a public place after authorities were called to Integrity Cleaning at 3:52 p.m. Tuesday. Officers were called to the business where they made contact with Dobbs who had slurred speech, very poor balance and smelled strong of alcohol. He had a BAC of .120. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
