Newton Senior Makayla Nook, daughter of Galyn and Tami Nook, was chosen during statewide auditions in October for the 2014 Iowa All-State Chorus. Six hundred vocalists will rehearse on the campus of ISU Friday and Saturday, with a culminating performance in Hilton Coliseum on Saturday evening with the All-state Band and Orchestra The concert will be programmed on Iowa Public Television at a later date. This is Nook’s second year as an all-state singer. The All-State Festival is under the auspices of the Iowa High School Music Association and the Music Educator’s National Convention.
