Light freezing rain is expected Friday night and early Saturday morning in Jasper County, according to the National Weather Service.
A band of freezing rain will cover much of central and eastern Iowa late Friday night and into Saturday morning.
Accumulations will be generally light but could produce slick roads and sidewalks. The cold ground temperatures will aid in freezing precipitation even after air temperatures rise above freezing, according to the NWS.
Warming temperatures on Saturday morning should melt any accumulated ice.
The freezing rain advisory is in effect from 9 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday.
