DAVENPORT — A Davenport man has been arrested after authorities found his mother’s emaciated body in an apartment. Donald W. Bohling, 46, was charged with dependent adult abuse with serious injury. Police say they found Bohling’s mother, 79-year-old Marilyn Bohling, dead inside a Davenport apartment on Sept. 25. After an autopsy, investigators classified her death a homicide.
Authorities say Donald Bohling was his mother’s caretaker. He was arrested on Tuesday and held in the Scott County Jail on a $10,000 cash-only bond. An attorney wasn’t listed in online court records.
According to her obituary, Marilyn Bohling was born in South Dakota and married Marvin Bohling in 1954. Her husband died in 2001.
