• Family Video, 308 First Ave. E. in Newton, will host a Jasper County Animal Rescue League and Humane Society Adoption event at 4 p.m. Friday.

• Newton Christian Conference Center, 5064 Lincoln St. in Newton, is hosting a free Youth Rally beginning at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday for all 5th through 12th graders. This will be an unforgettable evening with fun activities, live praise band, refreshments, an amazing mime performance with 40+ mimes and a powerful message given by Pastor Dane Massey. • Alcoholics Anonymous will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Newton.

• Peer Support for those living with mental illness will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday at Optimae Life Services, 1730 First Ave. E. in Newton.

• Noble Auto Group, at the intersection of I-80 and Highway 14, is hosting a customer appreciation fish fry at 11 a.m. Saturday while supplies last.

• Jasper County Senior Center, 702 E. Third St. S. in Newton, is hosting its monthly Blue Grass Music Jam Session and Potluck at noon Saturday. All blue grass fans are invited to attend.

• Reasnor Fire and Rescue Annual Soup Supper will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Reasnor Fire Station, 312 North St. The menu will include chili, oyster and potato cheese soup and a variety of desserts.

• JJ Express will perform live music blues, classic rock, jam and originals at 9 p.m. Saturday at First Avenue Speakeasy in Newton.

• Celebrate Recovery for Women will meet at 5 p.m. Monday at Hephzibah House in Newton.

• NAMI of Jasper County will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Skiff Medical Center south board room, 204 N. Fourth Ave. E. in Newton. Jody Eaton, who is the central point of coordination for Jasper County and Jasper County Supervisor Joe Brock will talk at this meeting about the regionalization of the mental health system in Iowa.

The program will be presented by Bob Main and his guest speaker is Linda Curtis Stopler and her program will be on the Back Pack Program.
