The Marshalltown First United Methodist Church and Central Iowa Choir Society will host the 62nd annual performance of Handel’s “Messiah” at 7 p.m. Dec. 7 at the church, 202 W. Main St. in Marshalltown.
The chorus is made up of people from different churches, small and large communities, and wide age spans across the Central Iowa Area. Janet Collison, of Marshalltown, First United Methodist Church director of music, will be the director and Chad Mussig, of Gladbrook, will accompanying on the pipe organ.
Those interested in participating in the large choir of 60 or more vocals are asked to attend upcoming rehearsals from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 23, as well as rehearsals from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Nov. 30 and 9 to 11 a.m. Dec. 6.
Auditions for soloists will be Sunday following the rehearsal.
All rehearsals are at the Marshalltown First United Methodist Church.
