Pest control worker accused of bugging Iowa home

RED OAK — A southwest Iowa pest control worker is accused of planting audio recording devices in a woman’s home.

Red Oak police say 38-year-old Aaron Johnson was arrested Monday and charged with misdemeanor electronic and/or mechanical eavesdropping and with being a felon in possession of a firearm, which is a felony. Online court records don’t list the name of his attorney.

The woman reported that she found one of the audio bugs, and then authorities found another in her bedroom. She says the only person granted access to her residence was the pest control technician.

Police say a search of Johnson’s home turned up similar devices, computer equipment and guns and ammunition.
