Gilman’s 310 yards not enough for Mustangs in playoff opener

WILLIAMSBURG — Prairie City-Monroe’s football team lost a double-digit lead for the second straight week despite 310 passing yards from Logan Gilman.

Gilman completed 20 of his 33 passes and also tossed three touchdowns, but the Mustangs’ 17-7 lead in the first half wouldn’t hold up.

Ricky Reeve caught eight passes for 91 yards and score, while Luke Greiner hauled in six passes for 146 yards and another touchdown. Ronnie Marshall also gained 65 rushing yards with another score.

Defensively, Jarret Maggard, Luke Pendroy, Reid Jenkins, Austin Sneller and Skyler Koder all recorded more than six solo tackles each. Pendroy also had one fumble recovery.

Williamsburg’s Mitchell Stahl gained 231 yards on 28 carries and scored twice in the win. Vic Malloy also threw two touchdown passes and the hosts took advantage of three PCM turnovers.
