I am writing to support Megan Suhr for Iowa State Representative. After carefully researching both candidates I feel strongly that Megan Suhr is the right choice for District 28.
Megan supports access to health care for all lowans. Her opponent voted against expanding Medicaid for lowans, a vote that would have denied health care to more than 100,000 lowans.
Megan supports equal pay for equal work and she also supports a living wage for Iowa workers. Her opponent seems to feel that it’s just fine to maintain the current minimum wage, a wage that leaves people who work full time with less than $16,000 a year.
Megan has a strong record of support for worker’s rights and also supports policies that will help small businesses. One of her proposals is to give a tax credit to small businesses to help pay for health care cost.
One of Megan’s top priorities is public education. She supports additional funding for public schools and would like to see more technical training available to help retrain under employed and unemployed people in Iowa.
Megan believes in working cooperatively across party lines. She will work hard for middle class families and for equality for all lowans. Please vote to send Megan Suhr to the Iowa House of Representatives.
