Tigerhawks go 1-3 in tournament

WOODWARD — Colfax-Mingo’s Tigerhawks concluded their regular-season volleyball run Saturday at Woodard-Granger’s tournament. The Tigerhawks posted a 1-3 mark in the round-robin event.

Colfax-Mingo rang up a 21-19, 23-21 win over West Central Valley of Stuart. The Tigerhawks were 35-for-43 from the service line in the match. Olivia Maggard led the team serving 11-for-13 with three aces.

Ries Wilson put down six kills in the winning effort and had a block at the net. Amy Russell also had six kills in the match while Megan Earles was credited with 12 set assists. Earles came up with seven digs and Sara Lahart had six digs.

The Tigerhawks dropped a three-set match to Panorama. Panorama rallied to beat Colfax-Mingo 10-25, 25-16, 15-12. Colfax-Mingo lost 21-15, 21-4 to Woodward-Granger and lost 21-17, 21-17 to South Hardin.

Colfax-Mingo finished at 5-23 in the regular season. The Tigershawks open Class 2A Region 5 playoffs Tuesday at West Marshall. The match is at 7 p.m. in State Center.

At the Woodard-Granger tournament, Wilson finished with 22 kills and 21 digs for the Tigerhawks. Russell had 13 kills and 36 digs. Earles put up 29 set assists in the four matches and had 29 digs. Maggard had seven assists and 10 digs.

Lahart finished with 34 digs, while Alivia Haley had eight digs and Dakota Hostetter had seven digs. Wilson had two solo blocks and one block assist. Russell made three block assists. Alison Teed had seven kills and Hostetter had six kills.
