Kelley is a strong voice at statehouse

Working in corrections is difficult and dangerous work. This has been especially true in recent years as the state’s correctional facilities have been dramatically understaffed. Under staffing imperils the safety of inmates, staff and the public.

It is sometimes difficult to get many elected officials to acknowledge this important public safety issue. However, that is not the case with State Rep. Dan Kelley. He has always listened carefully to the concerns of corrections staff. He always wants to hear the truth of what it is really like working as an employee in the state’s correctional facilities, especially the one here in Newton.

In the legislature, Rep. Kelley has been a consistently strong voice on behalf of corrections staff that are working to keep you safe. He has fought for more funding and done much to increase awareness of the under staffing issue among his colleagues in the legislature.

Rep. Kelley is a legislator who listens to his constituents and works hard on their behalf. I urge my fellow voters in Iowa House District 29 to join me in supporting Dan Kelley.
