Although I do not consider myself a very political person; I do pay attention to the things that affect the business I run, and which in turn ultimately affects me personally.
As the general manager of the Newton Holiday Inn Express, I know Dan Kelley is a friend of tourism. Since Dan has been in office, he has either voted for or is in favor of things that affect tourism in our area. Examples would include voting for legislation that promotes Iowa Speedway; voting for legislation that is bringing the hydroelectric project to Lake Red Rock; favoring the protection of our rivers and waterways; and attention to bills concerning the school calendar. These and other issues dramatically affect the tourism industry.
Dan Kelley has integrity and he not only votes based on the belief Iowa’s best days are ahead. Dan knows support for tourism is critical to our local and state economies. Check his voting record for yourself. You will see that a vote for Dan Kelley is a yes vote for Jasper County.
