• Kimberly I. Farris, 44, of Newton, is charged with possession of a controlled substance after authorities were called to 1020 E. 12th St. N. at 3:05 p.m. Saturday. Officers were called on a noise complaint when they found Farris at the residence. They smelled marijuana, Febreeze and alcohol coming from the apartment. Farris did not allow them to search the apartment but after searching her, officers found cocaine. She was cited and released to appear.

• A 16-year-old juvenile is charged with fifth-degree theft after authorities were called to Wal-Mart at 3:50 p.m. Sept. 26. Officers talked to the employee who said the juvenile selected several items and tried to conceal them. The total of the items was $58.22. She was cited and released to appear.

• A 15-year-old juvenile is charged with fifth-degree theft after authorities were called to Wal-Mart at 3:50 p.m. Sept. 26. Officers talked to the employee who said the juvenile selected several items and tried to conceal them. The total of the items was $35.72. She was cited and released to appear.

• Danny M. Gatrel, 26, of Patterson, is charged with OWI after authorities were called to 1200 W. 18th St. S. at 3:05 a.m. Tuesday. Officers were called about a man sleeping in his vehicle. While speaking with Gatrel the officers noticed a strong smell of alcohol, slurred speech and bloodshot, watery eyes. Gatrel admitted to drinking one beer. He consented to a breath test which resulted in a BAC of .144. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Alicia L. Geery, 29, of Newton, is charged with driving while license suspended and warned for having a brake light out after authorities pulled her over in the 1600 block of South Fourth Avenue Place East at 1:26 a.m. Tuesday. Officers pulled her over for a brake light out and found her to be under suspension. She was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Dakota R. Mindham, 20, of Newton, is charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after authorities approached him in Maytag Park at 7:34 a.m. Monday. Officers identified Mindham as a suspect in an assault case. While talking to Mindham, officers noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. When asked where the marijuana was located, Mindham said he smoked all of it and ripped up the remainder. After searching the vehicle, officers found marijuana in a baggie as well as a pipe and a glass jar of marijuana. Mindham admitted that it was all his. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
