Kimberly Lynn Brown

Kimberly Lynn Brown, 49, of Newton, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Monday, Sept. 29 at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 28 at the funeral home. Memorials to the Jasper County Animal Rescue League may be left at the funeral home.

Kimberly, the daughter of William Lynn and Lorna Mae (Lewis) Brown, was born Oct. 20, 1964, in Des Moines. She graduated from Newton High School in 1983, and then studied business management at Upper Iowa. She lived in Lorena, Texas and Jefferson, prior to moving back to Newton. Kimberly was a CPA and was the office accountant at R.E.G. in Newton. Kimberly loved spending time with her family, especially her niece and nephews. She enjoyed babysitting them and was always a positive role model, doing all the fun “aunt” things with them. She liked watching Madi dance, McKinley play football and basketball, Kaden play baseball and Colby wrestle. Kimberly also like going to concerts with friends, country music, going to the Iowa State Fair and craft fairs.

Kimberly is survived by her father, Bill (Renee) Brown of Newton; sister, Tracey Brown of Newton; her brother, Eric (Julie) Brown of Fargo, N.D.; step-brothers, Shane (Pamela) Vigil of Ankeny and Cody Vigil of Des Moines; her niece, Madison Brown; and nephews, McKinley Brown of Fargo, N.D., Levi Brown of Newton, Kaden Holmes of Newton and Colby Vigil of Newton. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lorna Brown.
