Giving back to the local medical community is now that much easier, thanks to the recent availability of online donations to the Skiff Foundation through the Skiff Medical Center website at www.skiffmed.com.
“This is a function we’ve been eager to present for at least a couple of years now,” foundation and events manager Leisa Zylstra said. “We know that there is a wide spectrum of individuals, families and businesses interested in supporting the health of our community by bolstering the hospital. However, those same people and entities are likely very busy, with a great many commitments. So anything we can do to make their giving an easier process, the more likely that it will be a good fit for them.”
Online donations can be given by visiting www.skiffmed.com and clicking the word "Giving" in the upper right corner. This will lead to the Skiff Foundation page where, in addition to information about giving via cash or check, planned gifts or support of Foundation events, there is also a link to the online donations page, where you can indicate how you wish your funds to be utilized. After entering the amount of your choice, you will be taken to a form where you can put in your name, contact information and payment details.
“Skiff has touched a great many lives in Newton, Jasper County and other areas,” Zylstra said. “Perhaps you or your children were born here. Maybe you’ve had a family member win out over cancer during treatments in the Skiff Cancer Center. Many people have had life-saving procedures in the Skiff operating rooms, or been tended to in the Skiff ER. And, of course, many people have said goodbye to loved ones in Skiff Hospice. In whatever ways we have been involved with you, your family and your friends, we thank you for turning to us.
