Newton High’s Cardinals went full tilt Friday at H.A. Lynn Stadium in the annual Red and Black Scrimmage.

First on the field was the freshman team as the younger players went up and down the field ending in a 6-6 tie.

The Red team dominated early and often in the varsity scrimmage.  The offensive linemen provide plenty of protection for quarterback Tyler Wood on the first drive of the scrimmage.

Newton’s freshmen and varsity open their 2014 season Friday night at home against Knoxville. The freshman game is prior to the varsity contest at H.A. Lynn Stadium.
