Alma May Haunsperger, 97, of Sarasota, Fla., passed away on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014.
Alma was born in Grinnell on April 21, 1917. She moved to Sarasota in 1977 from Kellogg.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, Sarasota, V.F.W. Post 3233 Auxiliary, Sarasota and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 355, Kellogg, Iowa.
Alma is survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer D. Haunsperger of Sarasota, Fla.; Douglas S. Haunsperger of Austin, Texas; and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Simon “Bud” H. Haunsperger.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, at the First Christian Church, 7601 State Road 72, Sarasota, Fla.
Memorial donations may be made to the First Christian Church.
