Jasper County Sheriff’s Office

• Robert C. Sears, 32, of Newton, is charged with driving while license under revocation after authorities pulled over a vehicle at the 5700 Block of Highway 14 South at 12:10 a.m. Sunday. Sears stated he had a driver’s license but was not sure if it was valid. After checking with the Iowa DOT, officers found that it was currently revoked for a previous OWI. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Glenn H. Vanbalen, 43, of Kellogg is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after authorities stopped a vehicle on Interstate 80 eastbound at mile marker 163.5 at 11:54 p.m. Thursday. After being arrested for numerous traffic violations, officers performed a search of the vehicle and found three pipes, a digital scale and meth rocks. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Darlene M. Vanbalen, 38, of Kellogg is charged with possessing contraband, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after authorities stopped a vehicle on Interstate 80 eastbound at mile marker 163.5 at 11:54 p.m. Thursday. Vanbalen was a passenger in the vehicle and was observed having fast speech and uncontrolled body movements. Three pipes, a digital scale and meth were found in the vehicle and she admitted to smoking meth that day. She was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
