The NCMP Aquagirls have a scrimmage swim meet Tuesday at Maytag Pool. The swimming events begin at 5 p.m. There will also be several diving events.
The swim team opens the 2014 season at Linn-Marr Aug. 26.
On Friday, the Newton High Cardinal football team holds its intra-squad scrimmage at H.A.Lynn Stadium. Action begins at 6 p.m. Admission is a sports drink or donations are accepted.

Newton fans can purchase 2014 season reserved football tickets. The tickets are available at the NHS main office.
