Lois Maxine (Hummel) Warrick

Lois Maxine (Hummel) Warrick, 93, of Newton died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, at Park Centre in Newton.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Howard Street Christian Church with burial following at Colfax Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Howard Street Christian Church, Wesley Life Foundation or the American Cancer Society.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The daughter of Louie Francis and Pearl Irene (Longren) Hummel, Lois was born April 24, 1921, in Jasper County. On Dec. 24, 1939, she was united in marriage to Sam Warrick and farmed near Newton. She worked for 25 years at the Maytag Dairy Farm. She also helped Sam with the farming and enjoyed singing, bowling and dancing her way through life.

Those left to honor her memory include her sister, Dorothy Morelock of Fulton, Mo.; two daughters, Janet (Ken) Musgrove of Drakesville and Marla (Ron) Franklin of Clive.  Also surviving are two grandchildren, Richard (Heather) Musgrove and Kay (Aaron) Forsythe; six great-grandchildren; and many loved extended family members.  Preceding her in death were her parents, and husband, Sam.
