Donna Joan Heyveld

Donna Joan Heyveld, 82, of Monroe died Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at Skiff Medical Center under Hospice Care in Newton. 

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, at Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. Burial will follow at Silent City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Jasper County Animal Rescue League or Skiff Hospice. On Sept. 14, 1931, Donna was born at Meyer House in Des Moines. At the age of six weeks, she was placed in the loving arms of her adoptive parents, Glenn Edward and Mabel Margaret (Fennema) McCongenhey. On March 12, 1949, she was united in marriage to Harold J. Heyveld in Monroe. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Monroe, AmVets Auxiliary and Good Sams Club. Donna enjoyed puzzles, camping, playing cards and bingo.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Harold Donn (Connie) Heyveld of Grinnell, Galen (Tammy) Heyveld of Newton and Gloria (Marvin) Bishop of Newton; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
