The Pacesetters received a bid to compete in the NDA Nationals in Florida in March during an NDA camp in July.

The Newton High School Pacesetters attended the NDA Elite Dance Camp July 22-25 at Iowa State University. The Pacesetters received a Superior rating for their home routine and Team Dance as well as a bid to NDA Nationals in Orlando, Fla., in March.  The team also received third place overall for their Team Dance performance and an NDA spirit stick. Team captains Hailey Coy, Brenna Schwenker and Macey Caves received a Superior rating for their Team Leader Routine.

The Pacesetters received many individual awards as well. Schwenker, Caves, Madison Mann and Hadley Braaksma were nominated for the All-American Team; Schwenker was selected to be a part of the 2014-2015 All-American Team; and Schwenker and Braaksma received the Pin it Forward Award for leadership, teamwork and hard work.

“Camp for us is the perfect way to begin our season. I think our greatest accomplishment was the connections we made as teammates and the positive way the girls represented themselves and the school. As their coach, I am very proud of their hard work and commitment to the team. This was truly a great way to kick off our season,” Paige Meredith said.
