To the editor:

Many Newton residents may be pleased to know that Opal Snyder, a longtime Newton resident who now resides in North Carolina, has published her first novel, “Maggie of Crosswell.”

Opal has donated a copy to the Newton Public Library. Copies also are available on Amazon.

While a Newton resident, Opal was editor of the Jasper Free Press. She is a member of a Writer’s Discussion Group and has had two previous writings published.

I have read “Maggie of Crosswell” and enjoyed the book. Thank you, Opal!
