James W. Bogue

James W. Bogue, 84, of Kellogg died Sunday, July 20, 2014, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 25, at Rose Hill Memorial Garden in Marshalltown. The family will greet friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorials in James’ name may be left at the funeral home.

James, the son of Dee S. and Mabel (Sigman) Bogue, was born April 1, 1930, in Toledo. He grew up around the Toledo and Tama area before moving to the Newton area and working on farms. James was united in marriage with Leora Hansen on June 17, 1972, in Kellogg where they made their home. For 20 years, James worked at Midwest Manufacturing in Kellogg. He also owned and operated a snow removal, tilling and mowing company in Kellogg. James enjoyed tinkering and working with his hands in his garage and outside.  

Those left to honor James’ memory are his daughter, Kelly Bogue of Kellogg; siblings, Shirley (Lynn) Partin of Newton, Jerry (Jerri Lou) Bogue of Grinnell, Judy Newby of Kansas, Irene McCumber of Newton and Delores Stalzer of California; and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Leora on May 26, 2014; and two siblings, Betty Bush and Sonny Bogue.
