Conservation program for kids next week

The Jasper County Conservation Board is offering the Junior Naturalist program for area boys and girls ages 8-12 years old.

The programs will be from 9 to 11 a.m. July 7, 8, 10 and 11 and cost $5 for each day. Participants should meet at the Mariposa picnic shelter wearing outdoor clothing and older shoes.

Various outdoor related subjects will be covered such as habitat, art in the park, digital photography, pond life, fish and predators. The activities will be outdoors at Mariposa Park located just off of Highway T-12, about seven miles northeast of Newton.

Registration is requested by filling out a form that can be found at  www.jaspercountyconservation.com or at the Jasper County Conservation office located at 1030 W. Second St. S. in Newton.
