Newton, Jasper County rocked by storms

Severe thunder storms have rocked Jasper County, and the county is still under a flash flood warning until 9 p.m.

The storms have caused significant damage across Newton, and Jasper County Dispatch reported they received 15 to 16 calls for downed power lines. Some roads have been temporary closed to deal with debris and downed lines and Alliant Energy is working to restore power to those who lost it.
