PRAIRIE CITY — Sophomore lefty Austin Brown threw a complete game and Glenn Gillespie drove in four runs in Prairie City-Monroe’s 11-3 victory over Colfax-Mingo on June 6.
PCM scored in each of the first four innings, including a four-run third to distance itself from Colfax-Mingo at 7-0.
Brown gave up six hits and struck out seven for his third win of the season.
Gillespie was one of several Mustangs who had a good night at the plate. The senior finished 2-for-4 with a double and recorded his first multi-hit game of the season.
Troy Vittetoe reached base in all four of his plate appearances, going 3-for-3 with a double and a triple for PCM.
Tigerhawk senior Nate Smith highlighted his team’s night in the loss by hitting his first home run of the season.
