WyJean ‘Jean’ Chumbley

WyJean E. Chumbley, 92, of Pleasant Hill died peacefully at home on Sunday, May 18.

There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. May 31 at the Elks Lodge in Pleasant Hill.

WyJean was born in Newton and spent the last 65 years living in the Des Moines area.

Survivors include two sons, Mickey (Linda) of Des Moines and Ted of Dubuque; two daughters, Judy (Dave) Renfrow of Knoxville and Connie (Jesse) Uhl of Pleasant Hill; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy; parents, Emery and Mary Jane Dougherty; brother, Francis Dougherty; and granddaughter Jessica Lynn.

In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to the family for a charity to be selected at a later date.
