Robert E. Wolf

Robert Eugene Wolf, 77, of Newton Monday morning, May 19, 2014, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A time of fellowship and visitation for Robert will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, May 22 at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton. Private family service and burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery. Memorials have been designated in Robert’s name.

Robert E. Wolf, the son of Roy Eugene and Mabel Belle (Ridenour) Wolf, was born Oct. 5, 1936, in Taylor County. He was a high school graduate, and served his country with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. On May 16, 1959, Robert was united in marriage with Phyllis A. Carson in Creston. He was employed at Earl May, and later as a service manager for several automobile dealerships in the Newton, Chariton and Hubbard areas, including Maple’s in Newton. Robert devoted his life to his family and friends, and was a past member of the First United Methodist Church in Newton. He enjoyed the outdoors, feeding his birds, deer and squirrels, fishing, taking care of his lawn and attending car races and tractor pulls.

Those left to honor Robert’s memory include his daughter Lesley Ann Wolf (Rick Macha) of Harshaw, Wis.; his son Doug (Rhonda) Wolf of Newton; his two grandsons, Dalton and Devon Wolf; a special friend Barb Carroll of Newton; his sisters, Doris Garner of Osceola, Betty Kinne of Creston and Lois Rusk of Illinois; a brother Harold Wolf of Des Moines; his nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Phyllis on March 19, 2010; a sister Lola Petersen; and two brothers, Vernon and Clarence Wolf. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.pencefh.com.
